We fly a thermal camera over your property and the ground around it, looking for the heat signature of an animal that is not moving. Most lost pets are closer than their owners expect, and hiding.

While you wait
These help more than most people expect.
- Put something that smells like home at the spot your pet was last seen. Their bed, a worn shirt, the litter box if it is a cat. Scent carries further than your voice.
- Leave a door open if you can do it safely, and put food and water just outside it. A frightened animal often comes back on its own at night.
- Stop calling and searching in groups. A scared dog runs from noise, including from people it knows. One familiar person, sitting still, does more good than ten people walking a line.
- Post in the local Facebook groups now and include the street, not just the town. Ask neighbors to check under decks, in sheds, and in open garages, and to look rather than call out.
What happens when we arrive
We walk the property with you first so we know the ground and where your pet was last seen. Then we fly a search pattern with the thermal camera, starting close and working outward.
If we find a heat signature that looks right, we mark the GPS coordinates and bring you to it. We do not attempt the physical recovery. A frightened animal is far more likely to come to you than to a stranger, and going in after one ourselves usually pushes it further out.
What it costs
Our fees are published here and they do not change based on how the call sounds. You should not have to wonder about that while your pet is missing.
Fee schedule
A thermal search needs a thermal aircraft, and ours is not here yet. When it arrives this becomes a flat deployment fee covering the first two hours, an hourly rate after that, a fee charged only if we actually locate your pet, and a discount for pets registered in advance. We are not taking search calls until we can fly one.
Located means we find your pet and show you where it is. We cannot promise a catch: an animal that has been out all night may run from anyone, including you. If we do not locate them, half the deployment fee comes back regardless of how long we were in the air.
What thermal cannot do
You should know this before you call, not after.
- Thermal cannot see through structures. If your pet is inside a shed, under a deck, beneath a porch, or inside a vehicle, the camera will not find it.
- Heavy canopy blocks it. Dense evergreen cover in particular.
- Warm weather reduces contrast. On a hot evening the ground holds enough heat that an animal does not stand out the way it does on a cold night.
- We search the area we can reach legally and safely. We do not fly over property without permission, and we do not fly in conditions that put the aircraft or anyone below it at risk.
